A glass of wine a day, Strengthen Your Bones
A glass of wine that usually accompany you at dinner time when using a European-style way of eating, was not only able to get you to relax and protect the heart, but also able to make your bones become strong.
Researchers at St. Thomas in London investigated 46 pairs of identical twins, all women over a period of twelve months. This twin pair, were asked to consume a glass of wine each day while the other twin does not.
The result is quite surprising. The women who consume alcohol regularly and measured bone density at the hip and spine increases. The researchers speculate that alcohol in a glass of wine or a small glass of beer can trigger the growth of bone micro architecture, perhaps by increasing levels of estrogen that causes bones to become stronger.
However, sufficient alcohol is the primary key. More than two glasses a day it will affect estrogen and eventually lead to the emergence of osteoporosis (brittle bones).
